Who are PaySum1?PaySum1 is a global payments service operated by PayGate. PayGate is a leading internet payment service provider and a licensed Payment System Operator in South Africa. (View certificate here - 380KB). We are backed by a global foreign exchange services firm that has been in operation since 2003 in the United Kingdom. The PaySum1 system was developed specifically to make the payment process quicker, easier and cheaper for everybody Why don't I just use my bank or credit card?PaySum1 offers you an easy to use and cost effective alternative. What countries can I receive money from?Please click here for a list of the countries South African merchants can currently receive payments from via the PaySum1 system. We are continually adding to this list, so please contact us if your country does not appear on the list. Is it safe?Yes. We wait until funds have cleared into our bank account before setting the payment status to 'Paid' and making payment to the merchant. These inter-bank transfers cannot be reversed. How long does my payment take?As soon as the clients funds clear into one of our bank accounts worldwide then these funds are deemed to be received by the relevant merchant / payment partner in South Africa. Please note that the payment is only secure once the funds have cleared into our account. How much can I save?It all depends on the size of the payment but we can generally save clients anywhere between 5-10% of the total ZAR value and we save merchants the cost of receiving wire transfers and the cost of credit and debit card merchant commission percentages. How do I make a payment?Please see 'How It Works' for more detailed information. Can I pay by credit card?No. The PaySum1 system is designed for those international clients who would normally transfer their funds through their banks to South Africa. We only accept Electronic Transfer of Funds and you will need to deposit funds into our bank account by either using your internet banking system, telephone banking or going into your bank. Do I receive confirmation or proof of my payment?Yes. You will receive constant e-mails informing you of the progress and status of your payment. These e-mails can be used as confirmation that payment has been made and are monitored in partnership with the service providers. Is there a maximum I can pay?No. There is no maximum that you can pay via our online system but we may call you to confirm your transfer if it is a large amount in excess of ZAR 100,000. |
